Alright, so I am implementing some changes around the Plantation. Puttin my foot down and tellin it like it is. I am a working girl now, right? There is so much on my plate with conference call and trip and meeting and scopes of work -- not to mention how much time I spend look the aforementioned words up in the dictionary. Lord have mercy, this whole professional thing can be like becoming bilingual!
Anyhoo, with all the travel, I have decided to start to delegate. I mean they are 4 and 5 now -- time to suck it up and contribute to the family, right? So we started last night with something simple and age appropriate: deboning a chicken. I KID. I KID. I thought about starting out with pedicures. I mean they could practice on me, right? But IJ nipped that in the bud. Fuddy Dud. So I began with "Packing Your Lunch for School"I put no rules or regulations in this. cause I believe in free spirited choice. I believe in allowing my children to have the artistic freedom to create lessons of their own. Uhm -- PUMP THE BREAKS ...Is that a mustard and jelly sandwich?Seriously? What about some peanut butter?!? Why can't we just be NORMAL? I look at him and ask "Do other kids pack mustard and jelly sandwiched?" I think we have determined he marches to the beat of his own drummer. Like a Keith Moon or Ginger Baker. Or Animal on the Muppet's. But when he chows down --YUMMMMMY! He's making 4 more. For the whole family.
Cause mustard is totally the new peanut butter.

I mix mustard and grape jelly together in a crock pot, throw in some li'l smokies and heat it altogether for a pretty darn good appetizer. So the mustard and jelly sandwich makes perfect sense to me.
Along those same lines - years ago my daughter came home from Girl Scout day camp with a new taste treat idea - onion & mustard sandwiches. She loves them to this day and she'll soon be 37.
My kids seem to like peanut butter and ham. No clue where that came from.
OMG! GROSS!
my grandmother made me a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch and put mustard on it, i did not eat lunch that day. this may or may not still be a subject at family gatherings.
