Pray, Say Hail Mary's, Sprinkle Holy Water...

Things have been a little crazy around here lately. For those of you not "in the loop" Indiana Jones was in the Air Force for 13 years, got out for 3 years, and is now back in. He sent off 44 of his troops yesterday morning to Iraq. I am so thankful he is still here. He sent off mothers, fathers, sisters, daughters, sons, and some mere babies (at 19-years-old you are still a baby!). One father gets to stay just a little longer because his wife was in labor when his plane was leaving for deployment. He gets the gift of a few more weeks. Pray. Please pray. For safety, health, comfort, peace, a difference. I do not care if you are for or against the war, if you are a Democrat or Republican, if you are liberal or conservative. What I do care about is the 44 brave men and women awake tonight, missing their families, sacrificing it all, for us. For you and me. Whether we asked for it or not. Thank you and may God be with you.

Wow! I remember so vividly watching as IJ was deployed. Even though he wasn't going directly to Afghanistan or Iraq and he assured us he was safe, it still was so much more real to us knowing that one of our dear friends was going off to a foreign site to support the war so that my family could sleep in a comfy, warm bed at night. I pray that those 44 men and women are safe and secure and that God's hand is upon them as they serve our country so sacrificially. We do pray for our troops serving locally and abroad -- but not as often as we should. Thank you for reminding us of the sacrifice that others are making for my family.
