HERricane Champions

This weekend we spent the ENTIRE time at the softball field. And I mean THE ENTIRE TIME. And while the weatherman said it was gonna be 72...I dressed like this....
which mortified my children. But I cannot help it. I freeze unless it is 87.5 - seriously.
But while I was all bundled up, my boy Twerps were in t-shirts and sword fightin.
we all get through the only way we know how. It is all about survival. And Baby Twerp did not make it so well....he got stabbed with a sword.
and down he went...
I woulda helped but I had my mittens on and all.
Then, Eldest Twerp was up to bat in the FINAL GAME of the tournament. They had an undefeated season. UNDEFEATED! This was it. For the championship...she was feelin the pressure.and she struck out. It devastated her....but not as much as her mother in the bleachers lookin like this...I told her to shake it off and next time she was up I let her know if she did not hit it I was puttin my ear muffs on too....
She got a triple... brought in 3 runs and made it in herself on the next hit. With that, they won the tournament. Which I was so glad cause my nose was freezin.
And they handed out the trophies....
and she was in heaven. She needed this. Amen.

Congratulations ET! You did awesome but more importantly your mom didn't have to put the ear muffs on. And CG, I LOVE the accessories. Did you crochet that hat by chance 'cause I may need the pattern! And lessons in crocheting.

AWESOMENESS!! WHOOT WHOOTT!!

Way to go ET!!!

Her coaches look a little intimidating - all big (tall and broad) with those dark sunglasses. I'm sure they are really nice though, my hubby's all big and wears dark sunglasses and he's nice (usually)LOL

If it will make you feel any better - in elementary school on the playground,I kicked sand at classmate guy with leg braces. I still remember it - I can't believe I did it.

I'd like to say it was because I didn't see him through his leg braces, but......I'll never know.

Some things just stick with us all the years of our lives - but they make us the more caring folks we are today...for having made that mistake.

Peace,
