ET Phones Home

Yesterday was the first big day of school at the new place. And while Eldest Twerp is a real adapter and go with the flow kinda girl, I know she was a little nervous.

And let me tell you, as a momma it is hard to drop her off at 7:30 in the morning and not know anything for the rest of the day -- I am a little control freak like that and all. Kinda.

But this big change was softened by the fact that Addison is across the street and she is in the 5th grade too and moved here from Oklahoma. And Jordan is next door and in her same class and she met Sophie and Jordie in 6th grade two houses down and Kristen in 4th grade, diagonal across the street. Oh Lord, thank you. Thank you.

But let me tell you, my heart leaped (or is it leapt or fluttered or sashayed? oh yes, i am likin sashayed) my heart sashayed for joy when I saw her round the corner as I picked her up today and saw the red cheeks from running and playing with friends and the corners of her mouth curled up in a little smile.

And when I asked, "So how was the first day?" She looked up at me with enthusiasm and joy in her eyes and said, "AWESOME!"

Then I had to listen to a 15 minute explanation of the first day without any breath breaks -- and there was a 30 minute recess and I sat by Ci Ci and Morgan and they are the nicest girls and we played games and my teacher is rockin and the food was good and I have an assignment to see what it is like to live without electricity so no electricity for me tonight please.

Okay Half Pint. Get your Laura Ingles' butt in the house and read by candle light and get that happy little tooshie in bed. Cause tomorrow is another day of possibilities...and friends. Oh the friends. Did you hear that Jane? FRIENDS! Go get a tissue or hankie if you prefer.
This momma is thankful. So thankful.

It is so awesome to see children enjoy school. My neice & nephew LOVE going to school. I just remember it was something I had to do but these kids love it. That is great! I'm glad she's making friends quickly.

Cute outfit ET! Very trendy!

I am so happy for her...my heart broke for what she went through a few weeks ago. As a mommy of a 13 year old going through junior high drama I can totally understand your happiness.

Very happy to hear ET likes her new school. Believe it or not I was worried for her. Changing schools is not good for kids and I kept thinking of my own son at that age. But happy to hear she loves it.

I'm so glad that she had an awesome day. I know you all feel so much better. I moved around a lot as a child, so I know how uneasy & hard it can be. But big huge YEAH! for the 1st day.

That's so great ET is making lots of friends. I know first hand what that's like being the "new girl". Slumber parties are just around the corner! I will have to admit I miss those days with my girls. Ask Marchelle about the "making of music videos......and Uncle Trixie thinking she's Paula Abdual! Just vision the ponytails flyin'(on the side of their heads of course) lol
