I Just Wanted To Be Friends, Is That So Wrong?

So I met these girls on the side of the road who ran out of gas. And as I drove by I instantly felt a tug cause that soooooooooo coulda been me. Like yesterday. or this morning. or last week. or tomorrow. Maybe. And I thought maybe I could pick them up and we could chat and share a moment and become new BFFs. Cause I am lonely.
And sometimes when I am lonely I have a tendency to try a little too hard. Cause when I get all nervous my mouth talks without notifyin my brain. And that is totally differently than normal. Seriously, totally different.

So I stopped to take them to the nearest pump. And we were all sitting there and talking and bonding and have a moment when I simply said, "I am so glad you guys felt comfortable gettin in my car without knowin me. I mean I could be a killer or torturer or sadist or crazy person and then you would be screwed huh?"

Then they shared a glance and it got all quiet and I felt like I had said something wrong. I think pulling the big ol camera out didn't help.

They got out of the truck really fast. And they did not want to exchange contact info either. Weird.
I think it was the air freshener scent. I know I shoulda gone with vanilla.

I wish I had your nerve to snap pics of everything. I took my camera shopping once and only took a few pictures. I feel like everyone is looking at me. Has anyone ever asked what you are doing?

heehee....

yeah, busting out the camera within the first 4 minutes of meeting someone will sometimes make them a little leary.

And I'm sure the fact that you seem to get the lady in the striped shirt's rear in every picture wasn't odd for her either...no...not one bit...

I know EXACTLY what you mean! I get all like we've known each other forever cozy and some people get the deer in the headlights look and go "Oh! look over there!" and when I turn back their gone. I'm left standing there smelling my armpits thinking I stink or something cuz it can't be me they don't like. right? hello?

I reckon it didn't occur to you that they might have been serial killers, huh?

You did a good deed though and they are probably talking about it at work today!

steve has a heart like that. He'll stop and help a man change a flat tire. A man I tell ya! I am like, uhm, I will say a prayer God sends them someone as I speed by.

But I have been held at knifepoint before and I just don't take chances. Cause lightening might strike twice.
