I Like Your Texas Hair

I woke up at crack o dawn thirty this morning in my conference hotel room and looked out my window. It was raining. And when it rains one thing is most certain in life...My hair is gonna get a mind of its own and get all kinky in me. And nothing can calm it down. I talk in soothing hushed tones and it doesn't even simmer down a little. It has a mind of its own on rainy days I tell you.
So I do all a girl can do. Accept the bigness of the matter and high tail my hiney downstairs.
I am a little self conscience about it, but who will really notice that I look like a cross between a TV evangelist and an 80s dancer? I mean really....HAIR - how noticeable it it anyways?

Then, as I get off the elevator feelin all sure of myself, a little girl looks over at me and says, "I like your Texas hair."Texas hair? What is Texas hair? So I google it and this is what I find. Oh Lord help a girl out! I don't see any resemblance at all, right? Right? RIGHT???My family is worried it soon might spread to them too. Bless their hearts.

I can't handle the humidity either. Good thing I live in Phoenix! But I WISH I could get mine to look like yours. All my prayers would be answered!

No resemblance at all, except I bet you have better legs than the cheerleader pic.

That makes it sound like I checked out her legs. Really, how could anyone not notice them, especially if, like me, you were born with the nickname thunder thighs.

I still love myself though. But really, big hair or big thighs? I'm thinking you got the better deal. I would trade any day.

Rest assured, Texas hair is a fantastict thing. Flat-haired folks such as myself look at the likes of you as with amazement and admiration because we flatties couldn't acheive that even with a full can of Elnet and Ken Paves by our side.

Now you know yours does not look like those heads of hair. Well maybe close to the cheerleader but not completely. LOL. Heck I wish my hair looked like yours on a bad day.

I'm a lurker coming out to comment about TX hair. I FEEL for you. I'm a TX transplant from CA.. Where there was no humidity! I knew that I would look like a poodle most days. Tuesday morning I woke up with great hair. I took the bus downtown and by the time I got up into my office... I was a poodle. Your TX hair looks great!

I love your TX hair! It is nice that your hair has life!

I am the weather watcher at my office complex and send out weather updates to the girlies I work with. I often say that my "hair-o-meter" predicts high humidity or rain or stuff like that. They all love it! When we had tornadoes the other day, they asked what the hair-o-meter was saying. It is fun!

Sometimes my hair expands with the humidity so I can definitely relate.
