Out of Gas: We Were Warned

I started cinnamon rolls Sunday morning only to realize we were out of milk. So I hopped in the car with ET to run to the grocery less than a mile away. And my car started jerking and twitching and then ...then... he just died. Ka Pooh It. I, ladies and gentleman had run out of gas.So I called IJ and we waited. About 20 minutes into our wait, Eldest Twerp looks up from her Nintendo DS and asks, "Why are we stopped?" She is her mother's daughter. But soon coming round the bend was my night in shining armor. My very loving and rescuing - but very angry at me and my irresponsibility -knight in shining armor.
And the fact that this one little juggy was not enough to get me started, only added fuel to the fire. (get it... FUEL to the fire? ha ha hoo hoo hee hee giggle giggle snort) I crack myself up.But somebody wasn't laughin as he had to make trip number two to get gas.
Cause let's face it.
It was cold. And due to my irresponsibility and lack of planning,
IJ had to get himself and our two baby boys out in the cold to get my immature hiney some gas.
And I was feeling all bad until a remembered one tiny detail. And I am thinking this mighta not been the best time to bring it up - BUT,
"IJ, weren't you the last one to drive the car?"

cause you said you "started them" and i would just die a slow and painful death if you told me that while everyone was out getting milk and gas that no one was home to take the cinnamon rolls out of the oven.

oh please oh please oh please.

hah! my husband is notorious for driving me car, noticing the light is on, but not getting gas. Then the next day I hope and pray I can make it to the station b/c his asshat self didn't tell me so I would get up earlier so I wouldn't be late to work.

New reader to your blog here - not exactly how I find it but you had me at the title :)

What's hilarious to me about this post is that yes, my husband would have P-O'd that I ran out of gas (it's actually one of his pet peeves, to wait for the gas light to come on) but he would have been on FIRE that I was snapping pictures during the whole scene!!! hahahehehe
