For Sale

Fish Food. Only Used Twice.
We came home tonight to a floater. Our precious dolphin cousin lasted 24 hours...God Bless His Soul.
We sang a little song. {Then did a little dance...made a little love...I kid I kid....}
Said some kind words about what we remember most about our beloved pet. This was hard for me.... I remember the night we brought you home. It seemed like only yesterday....

Put him in a bag.And recycled. We are so green like that. Just keepin an eye on that carbon footprint. Then came the words I knew were inevitable, "See, I told you we should have got a pet dolphin!" GULP!

Top 3 things that give me the willies:
1. worms of any kind
2. removing dead fish from their bowls with that little net
3. so maybe there's just two things.

Well, the fish food said "Cleaner water, guaranteed" and once the fish was dead and out of there, the water was cleaner, so the food worked. I'd say you got your money's worth. (I jest)

If you let the water sit in the bowl for a day or two, I think all the bad chemicals will evaporate out. You can also buy some water drops at the pet shop to put in the tap water. I haven't had fish in years but somehow I recall those details....
Sorry to hear about Flipper's untimely passing. We used to put goldfish in our horse's water troughs as kids, and those things would survive in there for years, even through winter's and near ice-overs! Did you get a feeder goldfish? Those are the hardiest and even come in all kinds of splotchy colors, I think! ;)
Hey, maybe you can adopt-a-dolphin through some sea-life conservatory program? You might even be able to middle twerp a certificate somewhere!?

Sorry for the loss- looks like MT took it ok though. One of his first life lessons I'm sure.

OH NO!!! The life span of a fish really isn't that long. Glad IJ was home to help deal.

Aw! I'm sorry. My dad released my goldfish into the lake in front of our house. I was six and we were going on a two week vacation, so his reasoning was that the fish would be better off swimming in a lake. Hmmmm...

We came home from a vacation only to find one goldfish in the other goldfish's mouth. My son was horrified. We were able to remove the one fish out of the other's mouth, but after mouth-to-mouth we were not able to save the dead, stuck fish.
I do not recall the dead fish's name, but one of the two was named Bob.
No, we really did not perform mouth-to-mouth on a dead fish. They don't make those little plastic mouth-to-mouth germ guards in human-to-fish sizes. At least I don't think so. Maybe they do now. You should look into it for future reference.
