I Am Mature and Unbiased

Update -- Okay first and foremost I want to give you all a big pink fuzzy heart with glitter for knowing me so so well. I mean seriously, you are my BFFs and I love you all to pieces and I am going to use you to solve all my marital disputes now...watch out. And kudos to me for staying unbiased on this topic. It was very hard for me. But since I am so mature, I was able to do it. However, I think STEVE is the anonymous at 2:30 AM Hmmm. And I am not countin him. So, do you wanna know the one that made my heart go pitter patter? I actually wanted the square pit. I love it...I want to wear its class ring and wrap it with dental floss....,and then paint it I'm Not Really a Waitress by OPI. Cause it is my fave.

So the final tally is in -
8 voted for square
5 voted for circle
1 voted for flush...as in it down the toilet...

And let me say I am not opposed to the ring option...Lanny at Simply Me did it differently and it looks cute as a button, go take a look. I just don't want it flush.

HOWEVER...when we went to Lowe's to purchase the square pavers, they were $3.99 and the circle pavers were on sale for $1.52. And I am NOT opposed to the circle pit, especially for over half the cost. That just means more lattes for me, ya know what I am sayin? And my thighs will sing my praises. Amen.

So the fire pit is going right here....

Don't ask me why cause I really don't understand but something about water lines and electricity lines and water retention and the price of tea in China. And we all know we do NOT want to mess with the tea in China cause I think they have nukes and all. So I am like Fine you win on this one, but I can pick the type of fire pit...and of course we disagree....

Therefor, I am settling this dispute the MATURE way...I am calling on the smartest people in the entire world to settle this dispute, you all...my bloggin freinds....And there was concern on the opponents end that I would be all biased and lead you to choose my fave...but I WILL NOT have any bias to the following picks so you will not pick sides and choose the one I want cause we all know you like me WAY better than Indiana Jones. And don't go tryin to deny it either, it will only lead to large amounts of guilt and condemnation upon your soul and I could not bear to think I was the source of that.

So here it goes, completely unbiased and I am NOT tellin you which is the best, you choose....without any knowledge of the one I really really want and hope with all my heart you pick.

Option 1 -- A round fire pit made from pavers. Option 2 -- A square fire pit made from stone.
The next option uses this fire pit ring....
Option 3 -- Fire pit ring flush to the ground
See? As unbiased as they come. Not even a little hint of which one I am fasting and praying that you will choose. Oh please, hear my prayers.

I love them all truthfully. I especially like the square one though. If it were me since you have small children I don't think I would pick the one flush with the ground. They could fall into it and hurt themselves if they were to trip or be running. Just my thoughts anyway.

I like option #1 - round one and have to agree with treasia on the one in the ground. It would make me a nervous wreck watching my kids around that one. I like the round one because it's more conducive to everyone gathering around the fire. It's a little harder to gather "around" a square, right?

So...ditto what the moms said about the one flush with the ground, even though I think that is the one you like.

I'm liking the square one...

The kids were the first thing that popped into my mind too. I like the circle one (option #1).

They are all nice except option 3, and I think I like circular over square thou

I'm gonna go with option #2. What a beautiful area around it with all the stone. I just love the way that looks.
I'm will whole heartily agree with Treasia and Shannon on option #3. That would make me so crazy nervous that someone not just the kids would step in it and get hurt.
I'm curious to know which one you want???

Option 1. I am in agreement as to the concerns of the flush one. I think option 1 looks like it has more seating potential.

And...I'm praying it is the one you love or I will feel very guilty for even answering the question!

We have option #1 and I like it, but... for you? I think option #3 looks the coolest if you have a stone patio all around it. If not, I like the square one. The negative with #3 (other than not having a barrier between kids and fire as other posters mentioned) is that it is nice to have something on which to set your feet to warm them or rest a marshmallow stick. So, I suppose #2 my choice. #1 doesn't quite have the pizzaz that you exude. :)

I like the square one, though I think it should be a bit bigger. It doesn't look like it would hold a big enough fire the size that it is...

I like the square one...but it does need to be bigger.

I like the square one, looks very nice and cozy but also sophisticated.

I agree w/everyone that the flush one is not as safe for the kiddos...plus, I like to see the fire, and it seems weird that it is mostly buried in the ground.

I like the round one just because I do. But the square one wins points for uniqueness. However, that particular square model you showed looks really small, like you don't have room for a very big firepit.

I don't think you can go wrong with the circle or the square.

pick the one IJ wants - option 3.

I like option 1 and option 3. I think 3 is my favorite (though my kids would probably fall into it).

OK, I guess option 2. It seems the safest.

Okay I may be too late, but hey, I've been at the cabin. But, I must speak my mind on this as I'm wanting one too. The flush one looks all cool and all but it just begs for tripping oneself or little ones right into the fire. And I hate to be a fire ring snob, but isn't that metal thing just a horse trough with no bottom to it? Hmm. I don't like the looks of it. Then the square stone one says OUCH to me if you or a twerp falls and bangs your head on a corner. But at least not as painful as falling right into the fire. (Not that you or your twerps are clumsy or anything). So, my vote goes to one, round above ground no sharp corners and easier to hold hands and sing kumbaya with.

CG, some concrete products can "explode" in a fire pit... Exploding rocks are something boyscouts are warned about when building a rock encircled campfire. The ring, however displeasing to the eye, would help keep that from happening, say if one of your guests decide the "little" bon fire needs a bit more fuel-
