Nader Warning - Southern Style

Well Lordy-Be the hurricane has hit. I woke up this morning at some upgawdy hour only meant for nocturnal animals, and looked out my window to this...
and this...
Then I crawled back in bed and pulled the covered up and said I shall wake no more forever. But alas, the coffee pot calleth and I got up and coke up Baby Twerp.
He was not all down with the rain.
Can we remember the fear of water this kid has? It was the end of summer and he was just barely tipping his toe int he water. And now, I wanted him to walk out as water plummeted from the sky? Eldest Twerp came to the rescue with negotiations. She failed. We were not budging. {Notice - Middle Twerp is NO WHERE to be seen. He inherited his mother's lazy morning bones. He is still under the covers in my bed -- DRY!}We finally drug their hineys to the car in spite of the vile water torture they had to endure. First we met a train.
And then the road was closed.
Which made traffic even more unbearable.
So I had to make a pit stop -- Lover of my Soul.
Next, the tornado sirens started going off a man on a speaker was saying ALERT ALERT THIS IS NOT A DRILL BUT AN ACTUAL TORNADO WARNING

I thought about running home and putting on my powder pink bath robe, roiling my hair in curlers, knocking out a few teeth, putting Baby Twerp in a diaper and bottle and then stand on my front porch as the TV crews arrived and say, "LIB -- that Nader sounded just like a freight train."

But I had no time -- school calleth. And no act of God is gonna prevent me dropping off my twerps. Cause there ain't NO WAY in Hades they are all staying penned up in the house all day with me.

So, I think baseball practice will be canceled tonight.
What do you think?
Baby Twerp refuses to leave the car. He is protesting water torture...McCain...Do you see this?

Did they still have school? Poor little guy, I know how he feels. We had the storm last week.

God I miss a good southern storm!

But seriously, I'm impressed at your obvious dedication to your kids' schooling.... (aka mommy time) lol

Isn't a tornado worth breaking a 16 day streak at the ball fields? You will get a couple days off from that business, I suspect

We've had some rain here, but not quite that much! And your right, honey. Come Hell or High Water....my kids are going to school. Unfortunatly, where I live, up in the high Mountain, snow puts hell and high water to shame. Then its a fun day snowed in with the kids. Oh yeah.

I love a good storm, I'm originally from Kansas! Bring it on! And I'm totally with you on the whole gettin the kids off to school! When I'm home, I want to be all by myself!

My question is this, were you taking pictures while driving?? LOL!

Okay isn't it illegal to "coke up" a BT that early in the am.. ha ha... misspelling I know! We've had 3 straight days of rain now and under tornado watches too! The little ones had to sit in the hallway at school yesterday due to a tornado warning, for 40 minutes up against the wall on their knees with their heads bent over between their legs... my eldest was not happy at all (it messed up her hair and made her sweat!).. anyway it will get better and the sun will shine again and then BT can help mommy pick up all the branches and play at the ballpark again:0)

was all that frog choking rain caused by Gustavo? poor BT - he needs a bubble ball to protect him. (you could get paid by the TV station with those pics!)
