The Issues

Who watched the Presidential Forum last night? Anyone? Anyone? Bueler?

Well, being as that I have no life whatsoever, I got the kids fed, bathed, and in bed by 8 and then settled down for a long winter's nap got a coffee and my laptop on the couch and snuggled in to listen to two of the people we are gonna choose from to lead our country.

Let me start off by saying the WHOLE FORUM was on one topic and one topic only: Service. Now I agree that this is an important topic, but come on peeps! Is this seriously what is gonna sway your vote? Is this one of your top issues? Is this the thing that is gonna seal the deal for ya?

It is not for me. And Obama and John really did not differ that much in what they said AT ALL. And let me just say for the record that those commentators form PBS (I think) were so right out of an SNL skit. Seriously, where they totally characters to you too?

Anyhoo, what are your top issues? Let's pick 5, shall we and cover them in depth. Okay, by in depth, I mean at a level I can understand. So probably pretty shallow. So, here are my five:
  1. Economy
  2. National Security
  3. Energy
  4. Education
  5. ???

I need your help on the fifth. What do you care about? Are these totally off point for you? What is that will be the deciding factors for you?

I will start this afternoon with the economy. I am off to find a dictionary first. Oh Lordy-Be. This could be interesting.

gun control, abortion rights, is this war ever going to end... which i don't think is national security bc that to me is protecting our country and the security within- but man, when are we getting our troops the hell outta there?

I would say health care is a big one.

Our military in general. Our government does not take the best care of our troops, especially after they return home from tours of duty. This concerns me because my brother is in the Army and spent three tours in Iraq and the stories he has told me break my heart.

I agree that health care is an important item.

I also agree that health care is very important; however, I DO NOT want to see universal healthcare ever!

I say Health Care is huge...I know way too many people without it and I see how they struggle.

oh healthcare for sure is an issue. and social security anyone? gosh i could go on and on. abortion is a huge issue right now that is sort of being pushed aside- take a gander at mccain's plan for THAT ONE. i'm sorry. i would never have an abortion done but on the flip side, you old white man, you have NO right to tell me what i can do with my body.

My greatest concern for our nation is the fact that this country was founded as "One Nation under God" and yet we seem to have forgotten that one single important factor in who we choose to lead this country. I want a man who looks to God for direction and wisdom. I'd take a "King David" any day of the week. I truly believe that we are living in the days of prophecy - read your bible (The Holy Bible)and if we continue to turn our backs on God as a nation, we can trust that He will remove His hand of protection from us. We just think it's bad now.....

My single most important issue in this election.....The fact that this great country was founded as "One Nation under God". I want a leader that will look to God (not A god But the only and only God) for direction and wisdom - I will take a "King David" any day of the week.

Healthcare for sure!! And on the abortion issue- Read the Bible. McCain is not telling people what to do with their bodies, God told us that in the bible many many many centuries before McCain was even around...
