And that certain fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants someone was all like, "Hey let's go to Graceland! Sure it is a little out of the way and sure we will be late getting in and sure we have no clue exactly where it is, but I try to not think about all the details of life."
Which brought about looks like this...I am so accustom to looks like this.I pretended like I did not see these scorns of dismay and started down the street singing...

Schlemeel, schlemazel, hasenfeffer incorporated.
Can anyone name that song? Anyhoo, we got these great little headsets...Which SURPRISE...Baby Twerp would have no part of whatsoever. He wanted All Shook Up and they kept playing Love Me Tender. He could not deal with this travesty.
Middle Twerp got Return to Sender and Jail House Rock.
I was too busy being all ga ga over Elvis' home.
I totally fell into my make-believe world and started to see the house through the eyes of IF I WERE ELVIS' LOVER. Which I totally coulda been if I woulda been born a few decades earlier...in Memphis.
Where would I have spent most of my time? In this kitchen with my own personal cook 24/7?
In the media room with three TV's...
And a uhm, exsqueeze me? A MIRRORED ceiling???? GASP What would my mother say?or in the pool room with over 350 YARDS of fabric????Oh Lordy Be. I just could not decide. But just wait and I will take you through my make-believe life with Elvis. And even show you the clothes we wore, the place he serenaded me, and the things we did. Oh look, here is he now....

Mine is the same as yours! I didn't cheat either...you can even check my playlist :)...I could have so been one of the back up singers...you could sing with me...When you were in Tupelo you should have stopped at his birthplace...I went there while on a softball tournament...the house is so small! Hope to see you soon!
My favorite is Can't Help Falling in Love.
Great pics of the house. And the song at the beginning of the post is the theme song "Making our Dreams Come True" from Laverne and Shirley right? :-)
I remember wanting to stop at Graceland on our way to Mississippi when I was young. Luckily the car broke down and we had some down time, so my mom brought me there.
My favorite song would have to be "love me tender" just because that is the only song I can play on the piano!
1) Laverne & Shirley
2) There's too many to just pick one! I love them all!
Laverne,
I don't think 'Cilla liked the "mistresses" actually staying there in the house and all.
Come home to Milwaukee.
<3 Shirley
P.S. Love Me Tender. It makes me melt.
it is so hard to pick a favorite elvis song. It is like saying which do you like, white or yellow queso? I live them all! Mood plays a big role in the selection at any given time.
I don't have a favorite color either!
I'm glad you're in the great state of Oklahoma today!
love, dana
oh, p.s. I have been to Memphis twice and never got to go to Graceland! What's with that? Life is so unfair!
oh dear. was that carpet in the kitchen. NOOOOOO!
How neat to go to Graceland! I have never been.
Unfortunately I would have been looking at ya like IJ...I am so wired like that. I can not tolerate deviating from the plan. Wish I could...
I work for a really big company based in Memphis, and we call that time zone "Elvis Time."
So cool to see the interior of Graceland!
My little name is grafitti'd on the wall outside of Graceland BUT I have never been inside. Don't hate me - but I never cared for Elvis songs.
But I did watch Laverne and Shirley - we were just singing this song here at the office the other day!

Now there must be something wrong with me as I do not think of Elvis when I think of Memphis. I think of the ducks at the Peabody.
That must be because my family is from near there and on special occasions, like birthdays or Mothers Day, etc, we would brunch at the Peabody, when I was a little kid.
I loved waiting for the ducks to come and go. I would even wear a dress willingly!
Yo Cat! If you're going to be in OKC til next Wed., I gotta meet up with ya. Fill you in on the latest!
Favorite Elvis song - gosh, so many - I love his Christmas album.
Favorite Elvis: Where is the Love.. oops that's Elvis Costello.. sorry
