Coke

Another one of the birthday wishes from the poor sweet Eldest Twerp was to go to the World of Coca Cola. And since I had forgotten her cake and was feeling like the world's worst mother...I accommodated her wish. And of course she wanted to bring Baby Twerp along. They are two peas in a pod -- like Mutt and Jeff, but not.
You know what I am saying. And she carried his little hiney around the entire place like this -- cause she spoils him like that and all.
But if you are ever in Atlanta (first, you better stop and eat lunch with me) then you should def. go to the World of Coca Cola. I kid you not -- in the hours we were here I laughed, cried, and kinda peed my pants -- but just a little. It was all that darn Coke. Not to mention that I can totally burp the alphabet. Unless you judge me for that, then I am only kiddin. Giggle Giggle Snort! But as always, whenever we go anywhere, I wanna get the perfect family pic. I try this at all events we attend. and it never works out for me. But I am the eternal optimist and I felt the stars might be in alignment this day and the gods might be smiling at me. So I tried...
And tried...
And promised candy...
And threatened with no Santa visits...
And then eventually,
I gave up...Twerps. I am using good kids on my Christmas card this year. Ya know..like fillers....stand ins...stunt kids. Anyone got any? I kid. I kid. Sorta.
And then I saw THIS! Oh, remember THIS? Super Bowl...1980. I was only four. But I am sure I remember. It was that impactful. (I totally made that word up.)
The kid gets up enough courage to offer MEAN JOE GREEN his Coke and MEAN JOE GREEN of course turns him down.
Finally, he says okay and gulps it down...just like MEAN JOE GREEN would. Wench. Then as the kid turns to walk away, Joe yells, "Hey Kid?""Want this?" And...he...{sniffle sniffle} tosses him the {wipe tear} jersey {full out sobs}.
Oh Lordy-Be. It gets me every time. I get all verkelmpt. And how sweet is it that MEAN JOE GREEN turns from his wicked ways and finds a spot in his heart for this impressionable young man. It makes me wanna give more to charity and watch more super bowls. I cannot explain these effects. Please just embrace me.
Then we moved on to the ...

Hello Lover. Over 64 flavors of Coca cola products from around the world.Eldest Twerp started in immediately wanting to try all 64 flavors. And Middle Twerp was right on her heels taking in all he could.
Of course, Baby Twerp...he wanted nothing other than Pink Lemonade. It was safe, known, tested, tried and true. All things BT needs in his life. He is not one for change. I, on the other hand, was having flash backs to the early 80's when my mom would by this by the keg.
But Eldest Twerp was still making her rounds....Drink #32....(And let me just say for the record that Zimbabwe has it going on with that Spar-berry....YUM to the ME)
MT as still tacking it with the Hong Kong Fanta... I think he tried this one about forty elven times.I was wondering aimlessly for the Dr Pepper. Hello? Lover? Where art thou? But then...then...something AMAZING happened. Something so unpredictable and glorious appeared. Baby Twerp was willing to TRY the Barq's RED Creme Soda. I know...I gasped too.
Three glasses later and the hiccups, and we are NOW in love.
I tried to pry it out of his hands so we could leave.
But let me just say, we left with a glass full....and his caffeine level to its bounds.
BT has a new lover. Amen.

sometimes you make me feel so old CG! You were FOUR?

Your twerps are so cute even when they are melting. I think I'd use number four in your lineup for the Christmas cards. It says it all.

I would have been in heaven in that coke sampling room! Coca Cola Cocktails for all! Yippee!

with the title of this post, i thought surely we'd see a reference to tony montana or a "say hello to my leetle fren" thrown in there somewhere.

PS - vanilla coke is the bomb dot com

i just love your posts.
they make me feel warm and fuzzy and laughy.
and less guilty, because when i was a nanny this past summer, i did things like threaten to take away santa. except it was actually a computer, not santa. but nearly the same thing.

Too funny! Love the "attempt" at family pix! I don't know how many (million) pix I have of me pointing my finger at my kids telling them to "act appropriately, for heaven's sake!"
