Well, I did it. After months of lamenting, I put on my sack clothe and rubbed ash on my face and went to rock the vote.
And Jesus himself shown down his glory by allowing this playground to be at the polling place. Thank you sweet 8 lb 5 oz baby Jesus.
Now this is Clyde and his wife.
Clyde is 93, blind, and ready to cast his vote for McCain. He was not shy one bit in letting us all know. He was SUCH a sweetheart and we were more than happy to let him cut in front of us to vote....for McCain...which he reiterated forty-eleven times. Cutie. Patootie.
I was all ready to vote. I still had no clue who I was votin for...but I was ready...UNTIL I SAW THE BALLOT.
BOB BARR? Campbell Brown said nothing about BOB BARR. I felt like I needed to go back and reread and study. Maybe I might like Bob Barr. And good ol Wayne Root. Maybe he signed his name with big pink fuzzy hearts...with glitter. Maybe.
But alas, it was my turn and we had to time for such nonsense.
These pics have NOTHING to do with this post. Other than I took them today.
I like to be random like that and all.
Anyhoo, after the vote we went to Starbucks and order meself some c-o-f-f-e-e...cause I voted. And Middle Twerp told them he went boatin too so he wanted a drink...and they gave him a carmel frap.
well, ya know ET spoke up and they gave her a Strawberry and Creme.
Baby Twerp wanted a straw. He never ceases to amaze me.
Off to be obsessed with Wolfe Blitzer. I LOVE YOU ALL...THANKS!

Way to VOTE! The older couple voting is just so precious!
I love you too CG. At the end of the day, isn't that what it's all about? After all the debating and discussing and comparing, it all just comes down to loving each other and making the best out of what we have. No matter what our political leanings, we should always love and support one another. THAT will change the world :)
Yay, CG. You have dont your civic duty. Now RELAX!!
that's so peachy keen!
I always say if you don't know who to vote for, give the underdog a chance.
I love how in all of that at Starbucks BT only wanted a straw. I love that kid.!!!!!
I have to wait until after work tonight to go and vote. But I am so there. And did you find out who Bob Barr was??? Haven't heard of him myself.
I had the Bob Barr (libertarian) guy plus TWO additional parties called Green and Nebraska. (I don't remember their names) ?? & I was like who are they and do I like them better? But I decides to snub them and stay with who I know Republican & Democrat.
i crack up every time you say forty-eleven bc it reminds me of 'twenty after forty' which is what my uncle said what time it was once when he was little.
What about us poor little saps who don't live within 50 miles of a Starbucks?? And like you I may stay up all night and paint and decoupage and watch election coverage as well.
You got a Starbucks. I got a sticker. No free coffe for me :( nope, nothing, zippo, nada, zilch. Just a freakin sticker. And not even a cool one with a peach on it. goes to finsih off bottle of whine
Congratulations!
I love those red leaves! WOW!
I want a starbucks! Not close to me though!
Uhhh... I mean't you have DONE your civic duty. Election day jitters. Sorry!
I love how much reasearch you did on each candidate. I'm glad you took the time to do that. You asked all of us who we were going to vote for and why. Are you going to tell us what you finally decided?
CG,
Just want to say thanks for allowing us to comment on your blog, sharing our opinions with you, and for reaching out. Love you for that!
and I want that caramel frap!!
So Barack Obama won...I understand this generates fear from so many in society...for so many reasons.
You have to understand that if it were up to me and I could wave hand and rid the world of abortion tomorrow--I would. The excuse that a woman has the right to with her body anything she wants is crazy in my opinion. You can't take drugs or have someone help you commit suicide. There is not one place in the constitution where abortion is made the "right" of anyone...so Roe vs Wade is bad case law IMO.
I love God and believe in the value of life...that said, Christians, it is time to put your actions behind your faith. If you believe the bible, leadership is from God and you are commanded to pray for your leaders. The problem w/Christians too many times is that we just want to do what is right (according to our bible) when we feel like it.
So now...you say you love God...show me. Pray for "President Barack Obama"...if you really believe what you say you believe.
I believe in you.
IJ
Obama is OUR President whether or not we each voted for him. And I hope we all pray for patience, understanding, and above all, wisdom for those who lead..and those who serve.
IJ for Prez 2012!!!!
I'm already making my buttons...
Well said IJ, living our lives according to the Bible under God's direction is something we all need to be reminded of on a regular basis.
IJ and I are like oil and water...vinegar and sugar...meat and california sushi rolls
but i still love him
meat and cali rolls? bwahhaha so hilarious. you know sushi places serve meat AND cali rolls. (and cali rolls are CRAB meat.)
i think crabs and cows could get along, don't you? :)
Dear IJ,
I couldn't agree with you more. We need to pray now more than ever. And help people ourselves so that the government doesn't get the wrong idea that IT'S the answer to all our problems. I'm thankful for men like you who serve our blessed country and who take care of their families....and who encourage CG's blog habit.....'cause I don't know what we'd do without you or her!!
Thanks you, IJ, for your healing comments. I'm a pro-life democrat. (I know, it's an enigma, but I have yet to see any real strides toward overturning R v W from either party.) I believe we should all work together to help reduce the need and desperation that leads to abortion....and it's my personal belief and hope that Obama will start us on that journey.
It is now time for us Democrats to be gracious and humble in this victory, and to reach out to all Republicans for their help and wisdom on the many issues we face. I honestly believe that the more we strive to find common ground, the better off our nation will be. McCain started our nation on this path last night in a most eloquent way. He was the epitomy of class in his concession speech. And Obama was extremely dignified in his acceptance. The tone has been set by these two great leaders for all of us to follow. Let's get to work, together. God bless you and Country Girl.
Go IJ! America, get on your knees!

I don't know...
I'm guessing after only a 5 minute "study and researching" crunch on Barr, you might find him just as dangerous as the man who is FINALLY leaving the White House in Jan.
It took me 7 minutes but I'm pretty ignorant in the whole political thing...
It took me a few days of grumbling before I realized exactly what IJ said. He is absolutely right. And it is the American thing as well as the christian thing to do. Support our President People! We can pull together and it will go a long way!
But above all, put your faith and trust in God. It is in his hands.
