If You Play Around The Creek Bed....

Spring has sprung and my Twerps have spring fever.
And in an effort to heal this fever - we took them to the creek...
But instead of being the healing balm I had hoped for,It turned out to be chaos....
and soon instead of the peaceful calm serenity I anticipated,
I realized we were headed straight for trouble. We were actually running full force into the storm.
You would think with three related children, I would have three of the SAME responses to the creek.
But you would think wrong.
Because one twerp looked at the water and remembered his aqua allergy and fear and trepidation set in.The Eldest Twerp set back and relaxed and enjoyed the moment.
The Middle Twerp wanted to know for how long he could play around the creek bed before he would slip in.
And shall we return to Aqua Allergy Twerp? He was still afraid a splash from a droplet of a molecule of water might possible drip on his little toe.
But Middle Twerp could stand it no longer.
He just HAD to got out and risk it...
To see if he could make it across.
To dip his toe in and feel the sweetness and coolness of the refreshing spring.
But a lesson was soon learned, that if you play around the creek bed - you will eventually fall in.But we were okay with it. A little water never hurt, right? I guess it is all who you ask....But soon our confidence strengthened and we dared a little more.As long as our faithful friend was by our side. She would keep him safe and secure from all alarm.Probably. More than likely. But when he decided to branch out on his own....He was in deep. Very, very deep.
And it was cold. Very very cold. But ET was not too far to come save him.
And when he started shivering and freezing as he was soaked from the creek water, she shared her pink glitter sweatshirt with him.
And I think we might need more therapy for this sweatshirt than for the near death drowning.
Amen.

he looks more and more like his big brother every day.

I think it is awesome that when he melts down, there is ET just hanging and she seems so non-stressed by it. She'll be a good momma one day herself!

Aw the love of a big sister-- precious!! Also, have you thought of a pool at home? Maybe if he had one at home to see and be near daily, then he'd get used to it much more quickly... I don't know-just having random thoughts here at midnight on ways to help BT...will keep trying :)

What a fun day, so precious. I remember those afternoons from many many moons ago. Poor BT, but way to go MT - full force. Love it!

That made me laugh! Great pictures. Kids always want to play in the creek. I remember collecting toads and crawfish and building little dams in ours when I was little. I wonder why Aqua Allergy Twerp (that is just a classic nickname) is so afraid? Just so you know, I never really learned to swim. I can doggie-paddle, that is it. So for some people, water is just not a comfort zone! ;) I love to look at it...just not be IN it. Or at least not in anything bottemless like a lake or sea.
