How To Tame the Inner Mexican. Burpo.

On my trip back to the great state of Oklahoma last week, I was DYING for some good Mexican food. Cause where I live, we have no true Mexican restaurants. Only Latino. In the Deep South I have found excellent restaurants, yummy fried food, fab sushi, mouth-watering ahi tuna, but nothing, no one, no place has been able to satisfy the Mexican hunger within. I have found no fix to tame the inner Mexican of CG.Soooooo, my BFF from Oklahoma - Feather - took me to the most FAB Mexican restaurant in tall the land. I kid you not. I have been to a bakajillion Mexican restaurants, and this my friends, this place fulfills Maria, my Mexican momma who dwells within me. And Feather, she makes me laugh and laugh and laugh. And yes, it's her real name, So here is the deal, if you are EVER in the Oklahoma City area, you must promise me one thing. You must swear by all that is true and just in this world that you will go to TED'S MEXICAN ESCANTITA and order like you are a hostage. And then burp.
And call me and tell me how I am your new BFF cause I just introduced you to the new lover of your soul. Amen.

I believe we all have a Maria living within the depths of our soul. :) Mexican food is my fav, too. Glad you found a yummy place!

Marchelle - I do the same thing with drinks. We rarely go to McD's, but when we do, that is the only place I will get orange drink. And I also know what to NOT get at certain places....like KFC has the WORST lemonade. Too sweet. And I have a sweet tooth! It's just icky.

Ok, I know this is a post about mexican food BUT since you're talking about eating in an OK resturant I thought I would mention Murphys in Bartlesville. It's been YEARS since I have eaten there. My brother will go visit relatives in Lawrence, KS, drive to Bartlesville just to eat there then drive back. Have you and/or Feather ever tried it out?? He says it's still as good as when we were kids!

Ted's is my family's favorite Mexican restaraunt. I won't even bother to go to any other Mexican place except for Taco Bell.

GIRL, you are so not kidding! Ted's is my utmost favorite. You lived in Oklahoma how long and never went to Ted's??? The original on N. May has been there forever! We used to wait hours to eat there....thankfully they decided to make it a local chain.

We should have a CG party at Ted's next time you come to town. It would be so fun! I'll even foot the first round of 'ritas! : )
