This Week

This week we will be looking at all the ways my life in Indiana was not all that different than my life in Oklahoma. I mean why pine away for all the things that are different? I will instead use my optomistic flavor to focus on the innumerable ways the town on 623 is the exact same as the town of 55,000. That way I will not be so homesick. So let us begin with object lesson numero uno, shall we?

Grocery Stores

Here is my grocery store in Oklahoma. This is where I make all my stops for healthy nutritious food my children to ingest. Things like Twinkies, Ho Ho's, and Lawd have mercy on my soul...Zebra Cakes. My heart is palpating just thinking about those creamy sweet thangs.

I frequent this place on average 3 times a week. Not because I am a culinary protege, but because there are only 10 Zebra Cakes per package. They are such a tease!

This is my grocery in my hometown in Indiana. See the similarities?

Well, let's see......they both start with an "A."And they both carry Zebra Cakes. Of course expiration date is not all that important at the later store, but hey, those things have so many preservatives in them they could never harm me, right?

Well, maybe they are not all that similar...but stay tuned for the next episode on Neighbors....SAME BAT TIME, SAME BAT CHANNEL!

Zebra cakes...........oh! my! goodness!

I love those things. I peel the top off, nibble the outside around the edges, then the middle bites are THE best......thanks! Now I want some!

Seriously, I can see the similarities in your grocery stores. Really... I can.....

Perhaps a group should be started for Zebra Cake lovers....
