Changes

UPDATE ~ Everyone is invited over tonight -- 7 pm. Come sit on the floor, help me relax, and let me see you one last time before I leave. We closed on our house today.

I feel as though I should be singing....

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes. Turn and face the strain
Ch-ch-Changes. Don't want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes. Turn and face the strain
Ch-ch-Changes. Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me. But I can't trace time

Song? Anyone? Anyone? Beuler?

After closing IJ took me to one of my Fav Five restaurants....
And I ate at one of my Fav Five lunches...
And decided to lighten the mood a little, I mean I have been a little stressed....Recap, shall we?

In the past week I have...

1. Quit my job
2. Indiana Jones returned home
3. Closed on my house
4. And tomorrow....we move
5. To a state I have never been to
6. To a house I have never seen
7. Adventure....
8. I live for it.

So back to lightening the mood....
I asked IJ...show me the look on his face when he thinks about spending a lifetime with me...
Not really what I was looking for. Let's try another. How about the look when he thinks about what a hot goddess wife he has?
I know his inner self is smiling....really, it is. Big ole CHEESE ball smile....Like this... After eleven years, I can still crack him up.
I went back to the house and just broke down looking around. This house holds so many memories. I brought home Middle Twerp to this home. This is the first place I ever changed his diaper. He peed all over me. I loved every minute of my healthy happy baby boy. This is the where Eldest Twerp learned to ride her bike.
This is where Baby Twerp got a shoe stuck on the roof. Yes, I Country Girl climbed up there and retrieved it. I so want a gold star!Memories...This is the place I spend 8,421 hours of my life. Okay, I am starting not to miss this place now. Here is my precious piano...leaving...my...home...All the neighborhood kids came over...I LOVE this about being a mother. Here is Country Girl...You know what I am? Supple! Absolutely supple!
We went out to our front yard to find a flat tire on our car....AHHH WHAT NEXT? Good thing I am so supple!

Okay - here they are...the reasons I'm not liking your blog very much right now:

1. I'm jealous of your obvious suppleness.
2. I hate cliffhangers - give details! This isn't bloomin' episodic television. You don't get paid the big bucks for a full 26 shows!
3. You get to have an adventure while I just get to clean up and pack my classroom.
4. Give me a minute...I'll think of something more.

Truly, I am sending up prayers for you. I have moved so much in my life, often to places sight unseen, but I have never had to leave so many precious memories behind and help kiddos adjust as well.

Hang in there and enjoy : ) the ride.

P.S. Where, When and Why??????

Kim -- You are the sweetest...If I was moving close to you I would not be so sad.

When -- They pack us Tues, Wed, and we pull out Thurs afternoon

Why -- The military

Where -- I am a paranoid schizo...I am just saying it is many many hours away...

CG;

You have piqued my curiosity to the nth degree...why are you moving, where are you moving? Are you planning on telling your avid readers in a future blog or is it top-secret, sealed and classified info?

Whatever your reasons, traveling mercies to you and your family. God bless and keep you all safe (and sane) on your new adventure.

You are an amazing young lady. I have watched you grow into a confident, secure woman. remember to always follow your heart. I believe in you so much. I know that you will do AMAZING things -- how could you not with all your talent? I am VERY blessed to have your influence in my Twerps' lives. -- And I am SO blessed to have you in mine. This is not "goodbye" but "see you soon" You know you are welcome ANYTIME in my home. I will always treasure your friendship. I love you to pieces!

I grew up in a military family and I know fully well that "Home is where the Army sends you." Many unforeseen blessings await you at your new home. New friends, new experiences, maybe even new babies- then that place will always have a place in your heart. Safe travels, and I look forward to seeing where home will be.

CG,
Best of luck to you. I assume you are not heading to Indiana or you would be happy about the move. If you are heading west, Colorado is having snowstorms currently.

Tuesday night???? It's supposed to rain and storm and howl and blow - if it doesn't we'll swing by and say, "Hello, GoodBye, We Love you so!"

oh and a life lesson you all taught me is it is easier to send a piano rather than bring a piano. And that it is so easier to leave than being left.

My dad is in the military, but for some reason we never had to move. But I do live right beside a military base (NC) and if you move here maybe I can tell you some places to go. I've lived in my house for 17 years now (since I was 4) and we are moving at the end of this year. Same town, new house. And I feel all sorts of twisted inside about it. But also, I know the new house will be fun. We get to redecorate, explore new neighborhoods and sides of town, and maybe it'll even have a dishwasher! Good luck Country Girl, things will get easier. Plus you get to have that new-house-smell!
