She Has a Wardrobe Consultant, and I Am Unemployed. Unbelievable.

If you have read any of my Political Ponderings in the past, first I would like to say I am sorry. Second, you are fully aware that I am not a Hillary supporter. Sure she has great hair and a passion for the middle class and a desire for universal health care, but she just seems mean. Like I think she was the girl in high school that spread nasty rumors about you and tried to steal your boyfriend. I just don't trust her. Now if you like her and she makes you wink and smile...then I say go for it {but just FYI, she did not win the nomination...and I think she is still a little bitter.)

But last night...last night...Hillary was like a new woman. It was like with the chains of competition unleashed she could let down her guard and be nice. And, honestly, I thought she was quite witty and charming. I mean the whole, "No way, no how, no McCain." was very witty and made me chuckle regardless if I agree or not.

And when she said, "I want you to ask yourselves: Were you in this campaign just for me? Or were you in it for that young Marine and others like him? Were you in it for that mom struggling with cancer while raising her kids? Were you in it for that boy and his mom surviving on the minimum wage? Were you in it for all the people in this country who feel invisible?"

Then on the heels of that she made the Tubman analogy with, "Don't ever stop. Keep going. If you want a taste of freedom, keep going."

When she was in the midst of this, I will be honest...she had me...I teared up and....and...for a moment...I really connected with her. She moved me.

Although I am still an undecided voter, she persuaded me a little when she said, "We need to elect Barack Obama because we need a President who understands that America can’t compete in a global economy by padding the pockets of energy speculators, while ignoring the workers whose jobs have been shipped overseas. We need a President who understands that we can’t solve the problems of global warming by giving windfall profits to the oil companies while ignoring opportunities to invest in new technologies that will build a green economy."

Can I get an A-MEN?

And she almost cinched me when she referred to her supporters as "my sisterhood of the traveling pantsuits."

But at the end of the day, I can never get behind someone who wears a hideous orange pantsuit. Ev-er.

Don't get me started! I have more to say about her well-written speech (though not by her) than Amen.

Trust your first impressions! But then I don't usually talk politics with friends.

I thought she was using bad grammar when she said no way, no how, no McCain, or however she said it.

yeah, i'm not exactly a big fan of hillary. your first impressions of her are still what i think of her...

Yeah...in case you wonder what I think of her...I call her Satan. Don't ask me what I call Obama! I cannot stand either one of them. Did you watch the meeting at Saddleback Church? You could totally see who was the best candidate. I'm not sure either candidate is the best for our country, but I certainly know which one would be the worst! McCain is definitely the best shot we have going--but God is in control. I've heard it said that we are going to get the president we deserve. We'll see...

If you want four more years of recession, war, record-breaking profits for oil companies, higher gas prices and tax breaks for the rich - then by all means, vote for McCain. But if you want change, hope, opportunity for ALL (not just the elite), healthcare that's affordable and an end to this blood-for-oil war, then I say go with Obama.
And Anonymous, I find it very interesting that you seem to call yourself a Christian, but you have no problem spewing hate and calling someone Satan. That just makes me sad for you. We need to stop focusing on our differences of opinion and start taking care of each other. Hate begats hate. Jesus would not call Hillary Satan, so why would you?

Lindsay...it's called sarcasm! However, since you brought it up, I think you were "spewing hate" as well with your well versed "blood-for-oil war" and all the other little hate slogans you have memorized. Have you looked at their voting records, their experience? Stop and think for a moment about what is best for our country and our children. Our country was founded on conservative, Christian ideals--and it's as far away from those ideals as it can get. Vote for Obama and watch it fall even more. I realized this won't change your mind--only make you dig your heels in deeper--but truly, watch the Saddleback forum. You'll see the who can really answer the questions, not skirt around the answers by hiding behind his charm.

boo my ramblings were not published and now I forgot what I said.

And Hutchinson says on Fox News she indicated long ago she was not interested in the VP slot. Please not Romney.

now i will have to wax eloquent.. nobody i know is happy with high gas prices, right.. but the oil co's aren't making a higher % of profits than say..microsoft...or Google.. and those co's don't have to spend big bucks looking hither and yon for hidden dino remains ...and 10% profit isn't that much although it may be a 'record' - so here's the kicker...if oil co's don't make $$ they won't take the risk of exploring.. ..and and and we won't have oil..as much as we all like alternative energy.. we has gotta have oil ..or we freeze and come to a standstill.. OOPS can you tell I live in Oil Country? just food for thought.. oooh i may get lots of responses to that diatribe! i agree that HRC can be inspiring when she's not in combat mode. i shall shut up now.

Michelle, I respectfully agree that some of my choice of words may have been a little harsh, but I also resent the fact that you assume I don't know anything about the candidates, and that I have "memorized hate-slogans." That's unfairly insulting.
I'd also like to give you a bit of corrective history: our country was not founded on conservative Christian ideals at all. The two documents upon which our country was actually founded -- i.e., the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States -- contain not a word about Christianity, Christian principles, the Bible or Jesus Christ. Neither is there any mention of the Ten Commandments, heaven, prayer or being saved.

In 1797, the Treaty of Tripoli, negotiated by none other than George Washington, declared that "the government of the United States is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion." Congress unanimously approved the text of this treaty, and John Adams signed it.

Mandatory church affiliation, among other factors, led to the establishment of the term a "wall of separation between church and state," allowing, at each citizen's discretion, freedom of religion or freedom from religion.

The phrase "under God" was added to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954, and our national motto became "In God We Trust" in 1956 in response to USSRs' so-called "godless Communists." It is historically incorrect to claim that America was founded upon Christianity.

Indeed, it was quite the opposite.

Okay Lindsay, I'm not going to debate any longer. You obviously have your opinion--which is not going to be changed--and I have mine, which is not going to change. I would ask you to read an awesome book derived from PRIMARY SOURCE documents--which is the key. It is called:

The Christian History of the Constitution of the United States of America, Vol. I: Christian Self-Government. By Verna Hall. It is a classic compilation of primary source documents proving America’s Christian history.

Truly, I mean no disrespect, I really just wish we could come together as the nation we once were and stand for something great.
I have no desire to be a socialist nation--and that's where we are headed.
